So if I’m thinking of renting for a week in Oct 2020, when do I need to start looking for a [rental]? Are reservations like DVC and need to start at the 11 month booking window?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think I would start looking for a renter until you have the week reserved. That would be at the 12-month mark assuming this is your home resort. If it would be a StarOption reservation instead of a home resort reservation, then those are technically not allowed in the Vistana system.

I think I would consider posting a rental wanted ad on Tug marketplace a bit over 12 months in advance, that way someone can book for you and you get the best timestamp possible.

Alternatively, you could sleuth through the forums to try and find someone who owns the week you're looking for and message them.
