Been to Aruba many times staying at either the Marriott Ocean Club or Surf Club. On our first trip several years ago we stayed one night at the Renaissance in town and visited their private island. We remember the island as being very nice and not busy at all, a nice place for relaxing.

Next March we will be cruising into Aruba and thought it would be nice to spend the day at the Renaissance private island for a day of relaxation. Does anyone know if a non-hotel guest can visit their private island? If not would it be worth reserving one night at the hotel in order to use the private island for the day (I have a hotel certificate that I can use). I remember the island being very nice when we were there several years ago, is it still as nice or would I be wasting my certificate?

Thanks to anyone who can help answer my questions.

Hi ml855,

Check with your cruise line. A trip to the island may be offered as an excursion.

We where there last year. I believe that you can buy tickets to the island for $75.00 each. It was very pleasant and we had a nice lunch at their restaurant.

Thanks, that would probably be better then using a Marriott hotel certificate. Do you remember paying for your tickets ahead of time or at the hotel?
