Hi all,

Purchased a timeshare on 12/7/2018, last Friday at the Elara in LV.
Got home on Monday and decided it wasn't right for us.

We filled out the cancellation form in the package of paperwork and I mailed the following to the address on the form(Hilton offices in Orlando, FL).

1) I sent an original signed copy via certified mail, return receipt requested. Expected Delivery of 12/13/2018. Postmarked 12/10/2018.
2) A copy of the signed form via USPS overnight guaranteed delivery. It is supposed to be there by 12PM today. Postmarked 12/10/2018.

I wanted to know if there is anything else we need to do to ensure the cancellation is accepted. It stated we had 5 calendar days following the contract date to cancel, which I believe would be 12/12/2018. For the certified copy, Does the postmark act as the day of cancellation? The Nevada statutes were unclear.

Am I missing anything?

Thanks in advance...
Ted

Hi Ted,

Welcome to TUG. Yes, the postmark is the cancellation date. You'e golden. Yeah. We're pretty good with this timeshare stuff. C'mon back if you feel a need for any more guidance.

Thanks Jim.

I wanted to make sure I covered all bases and didn't get locked in on a technicality.

I plan to do more research on here.

Thanks again,
Ted

I agree, you are fine. It can take up to about 45 days for the rescission to be completed, but usually it will be done in a couple of weeks.
