Just logged into my RCI weeks account. While trying to search for an exchange, saw a message that said "there may be an exchange fee discount" (one per account). When I went a few steps ahead WITHOUT confirming, it seemed the discount was for 25% ($60 off of $239). However, it did not specify a time frame that the discount is valid till.

Does anyone know how long the discount is valid for?

Did you make a deposit recently? I did, and received a 25% off exchange fee offer. I've put the fine print of the offer I received below:

1The Exchange Reward Window for the applicable Week begins once the Deposit has been verified (by your home resort) and continues for three (3) months staring on the 1st of the month after the Deposit Month. For example, a Deposit made in November 2018, the related Exchange Fee discount Reward Window runs from December 1, 2018 until February 28, 2019. In limited circumstances, the Exchange Fee discount may not be available for up to 15 days after the applicable Reward Window has commenced. Call with any questions. The Exchange Fee discount can be redeemed only once during the Exchange Reward Window, will be automatically applied at checkout, and cannot be combined with any other Exchange discount or offer.

If you had the same offer, you should have awhile to use it. If you want to ask RCI I find the online chat faster than calling.

Found out it's valid till Jan 31, 2019.

The live chat was very quick (not sure if it's was quick just today) and I think I'm going to try it more often.

Thanks again!

You're welcome. They have been having this offer ~twice per year lately, and I've used it every time. Takes some of the sting out of their very high fees...

Agreed!

One option, if you know someone in the US who can agree to let you use their mailing address for RCI, you could change your Canadian address to that US address on RCI account and pay in US$. That would allow you to pay in US$. This does NOT negate their high prices but at least help a little bit. That person in the US would probably have to deal with all the junk mail from RCI so you may have to treat them once in a while!

We also keep some US$ as a hedge and use it to pay for trips to the US and other US$ purchases. It may not work for everyone but just a suggestion.
