RCI to Launch New Version of the RCI App

RCI, the global leader in vacation exchange, will soon release several new features to the RCI mobile application to improve the user experience and allow for greater engagement.

The new version of the app will feature key updates, including:

Refined interface with easy-to-view information ranging from vacation inspiration to the member’s account dashboard

Reviews integrated into the resort details pages for members to read about the properties first-hand

On-demand availability of Endless Vacation magazine HD videos, articles, RCI affiliated resorts, attractions, events and other local features

Persistent login experience that simplifies search by allowing members to sign-in just once at the start of their sessions

An extension of RCI.com, the mobile app already gives members full access to both the exchange and rental booking processes, as it has done since its inception. Everything on the website can be done right on the app from getting inspired to travel to actually making a reservation. The current app has a few decent features, but is severely lacking and clunky. Any bets on how long it takes to get the new one right?

We don't belong to RCI or exchange anymore, but I'll still place my bet on never.

RCI has a long and consistent history of web site / computer / interface functionality problems. I have often speculated that this phenomenon is due to turnover and vacations in the junior high schools of Carmel, Indiana, where I am convinced that all RCI computer matters are overseen in a 7th grade Introduction to Computers and Programming class.

Really, Working on their app when their website needs vast improvements. All their energy should be on fixing their website not creating more problems on their app.

50 percent of Internet users are mobile users and the percentage is growing. Companies are now spending more effort on mobile than on desktop.

Maybe the new mobile app will be great, but I'm not betting on it.
