How does the expiration (travel use by) of points work when combining points in RCI? An example would be - 18 points expire 7/2020 and 3 points expire 9/2019. If I combine points to make an exchange and then cancel that exchange, do the combined points stay combined and if so, what would the new expiration date be - 9/2019? Thanks!

If you combine today, the combined "deposit line" will have one of two possible expiration dates: 10/2019, or 10/2020, depending on which one you pay for (the latter costs more). It is the end of the month one year or two years hence.

If you exchange and later cancel, they will re-combine assuming you've not done anything else with the leftovers. If you combine the leftovers with something else, the cancellation will show up on its own. Either way, the recombined deposit line/the lone cancellation will retain the expiration date at the time of confirmation, so either 10/2019 or 10/2020.
