looking at resales of HGVC. I think I understand home resort and home week, but have a question about using points outside of home week and home resort. We vacation in Orlando about 4 weeks per year. We thought we would buy a points package with enough to get us close to that 4 weeks. It seems like a 3 bedroom Platinum week package would work for us (along with supplementing a few Open Season or Hilton Honors points nights). Our travel times are extremely flexible and we would mostly book 1 bedrooms. My question is about check-in dates. I have looked at a lot of information but haven’t pinpointed the answer to this question: Using our club points (not home week), are we restricted to checking in on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday?

Thanks!

No, you are not restricted on check -in days. You can check in and out on any night that is availabe to Book. There is, however, a 3 night minimum for all stays.

Points stays are totally flexible and you can get a lot of bang for the buck staying on weekdays instead of weekends.

Open Season is two night minimum and points are three night.

The flexibility is one of the things that makes HGVC great!

It also makes it complicated. Read the rules 4x thru and it's still confusing.
Stick around here for a while, and you may learn enuff to pass the test.

Yes, limiting your stays to weekdays (M-F) will save a bundle of points.
