My issue is that me and my brother are using our points to have a big family celebration later this year. He has booked a 4 bedroom, and when I get within 10 months I will book two 2 bedrooms to accommodate everyone we expect. I'm the only name on my account, so I'll need someone else to check in to the 2nd unit. Here's my question: If my brother checks in to the unit he booked, and I check in to one of the units I booked, can I have his wife check in to my other unit on a Guest Certificate? She is also on my brother's deed and probably on their account (I'm not sure about that). Might Wyndham consider that an overlapping reservation?

The reason I ask is that I'm not sure yet about who else will definitely be there on the first night. If I were, I'd just assign one of them to check in.

Just occurred to me, can I change the name on a Guest Certificate without incurring an additional Reservation Transaction Fee?

You can put it in her name, and it will not be an overlapping reservation (as long as your brother puts his name on his reservation). Changing the name on a Guest Cert will not incur an additional reservation transaction, but will use an additional Guest Certificate.
