My husband and I have a week booked at PB Emerald Bay next Spring in a studio unit. We chose the studio unit because I understand the studio has a balcony, whereas the one bedroom units do not. Can anyone recommend a building location with good views, close to pools, etc that we might request?

there are 3 pools on the property. The adult pool is close to the first 2 buildings. If you have kids with you, you will most likely want to be near the larger pool in the center. The newest pool is farther from most of the units.

Any unit on a higher floor will have a view. We discovered last year that a few 1-bedrrom unit do have a balcony. We sent our son & daughter-in-law to use our PBEB unit and this time they got a unit with a balcony. They said it was nice. They loved hanging out in the adult pool area.

Hi,
My wife and are heading to PB Emerald Bay in April 2018 and will be in a 1BR master suite. We're wondering which building to request? Did a quick search and could not find a building recommendation. It will be just us, no kids.

Is the resort similar to PBSB with buildings spread out? Just without the hillside cliffs.

Thank you for any recommendations

PB Emerald Bay is not as large and spread out as PB Sunset beach. Our room was a short walk from the quiet pool near the Bistro. We enjoyed that location. Nothing seemed really far to walk to at PBEB like it is at Sunset Beach. Make sure to take advantage of the free shuttle to their sister resort. You can use the facilities and restaurants there and/or take a city bus and explore Mazatlan.

We stayed there one week before going to our unit at the LaJolla in 2010. We liked it so well, that we bought a 1-bedroom 2-bath unit on ebay in 2011. Our first reservation was pretty much in the middle of the resort. That gave us access to everything with a short walk. Once we bought a unit, we had friends or "kids" stay there while we were in the La Jolla next door. They had units in various locations and all were good and some did have balconies. The units that are on the 1st tier closest to the pools would be my choice. The entire resort is nice, and even though we did not have a balcony on our first visit, we had an awesome ocean view from the living room and with the A/C, it was nice in late May! This is a very nice resort!

We stayed in a two bedroom suite at Emerald Bay in January of 2015, even though there were just the two of us, through an RCI trade. The unit was enormous with two kitchens, two bedrooms, 2 baths. The smaller side had a partial kitchen that we didn't use and a good sized balcony. We slept on that side. The other larger side didn't have a balcony but a large kitchen/living area with a large dining table surrounded by bay style windows.
The resort is beautifully styled and like at Cabo's Sunset Beach a complimentary coach bus that takes you to the Pueblo Bonito in Mazatlan every hour. Since we don't do AI, this was convenient for going into town for dinners. We did like the onsite restaurant near the farthest pool. Across from the Pueblo Bonito in Mazatlan, we liked the restaurant Pancho's. Within a short walk, there are a number of good restaurants.

The buildings are all in a row, starting with bldg 1, which has the concierge in the lowest level, and then ending at maybe 12? which is near the bistro and third pool. Just got back from there last Saturday. We specifically asked for bldg 1, most convenient to adult only pool and the front of the property. Juniors and masters are both available with two beds or one king. Newest buildings near the bistro are mostly all juniors. BTW, PB is giving 18.5 pesos per dollar. Never saw a better rate during our trip.
