Can we talk of our own weeks in this section if we are selling - or do regular rules apply?

I dont particularly want this to turn into a for sale forum, but if its for sale for a dollar or something, thats fine.

I basically just want to get rid of ... released from the annual obligation ... 2009 dues are paid, I would want to recover the dues amount from a buyer, use of 2009 is still available, it's a flexi week. The resort said they'd do the change of ownership. Business has been difficult for the past couple of years, same as for many people. Thanks. Sylvia

An observation...

Thanks. Sylvia

You might want to reconsider requiring "recovery" of 2009 maintenance fees if there is a potential "buyer" who doesn't care at all about the remaining 2009 usage but who will want to make their own reservation at a time period of their own choice and preference for 2010. I'm thinking specifically of a potential Snowbird "buyer", for whom the 2009 time period of interest is now already gone by, with 2009 winter being history now...

Just a thought. Good luck.

I like that phrase - "recovery of" thanks. The benefit of the flexi week is there's April/May and from about Sept - Dec to request a week. We've found it very convenient.

My intended observation was merely to point out that the time frame of any real interest to a "Snowbird" is now already over for CY 2009.
However, if I understand your most recent post / clarification correctly, your particular flex period doesn't actually include weeks of primary interest to Snowbirds anyhow (generally between weeks 5-15, plus or minus).

Any Celebrity facility may be a tough sell (... or even a tough free gift) these days. To say the least, Celebrity doesn't have the best reputation. The Meyers (father as overall company owner, son Jared as CEO) are much better known for attaining and ensuring big corporate profits and surprise special assessments than for owner consideration or concerns, service oriented resort management, or reasonable maintenance fees.

In any event, I wish you luck in parting with your unwanted timeshare.
No one needs an albatross around their neck, getting "riper" by the day...

What about just pay closing and resort transfer fee and all maintenance fees starting in May? Is that okay?

That's what I'd like to offer for mine.

if someone is truly looking to dump their timeshare or transfer ownership to another person for a zero dollar sale, then yes it can be posted here.
