Anyone notice all the associations in Old Town area. There is a association for everything under the sun. Must be a lot of money in running a association?

Associations all have staff to lobby congress, K street used to be the spot to have an office, now many of them are located in Alexandria

I think this thread has overlooked the two main points involved with staying at the Wyndham Old Town Alexandria Resort. First and foremost, free parking. Second is all the sites in the Metro DC Area. Baltimore is very much in a day trip away with all that it has to offer.

A new reason to make National harbor your first choice is the MGM Casino

The casino was packed on Easter weekend. MGM spent a lot of money to build this resort. Paying off huge for MGM, Monthly revenue 50 million plus.

I was there yesterday afternoon and walked through the casino. I was surprised at how busy the place was on a non holiday, Monday afternoon. I agree a real money maker for MGM>> Im predicting that there will be Wyndham owners staying at National Harbor, that never leave the property

If you have a Metro Smartcard you can park in the garages at various Metro stations that have one. The secret is to get in after 3:00 PM and out before 9:00 AM and you don't get charged for parking.

Technically, there are only a few stations with Garages and a limited number of spots that allow 24 hour parking. So, while you can certainly park and then leave before or after the gates operate (at random it seems) you should not plan on parking greater than 24 hours unless you're savvy to Metro parking. Some lots are tougher than others on patrol/tickets. If all Metro lots allowed unlimited parking for just $7 a day, nobody inside the beltway would pay the huge overnight parking fees associated with some areas/properties.

Read the signs and change spots often.
