We're in San Diego and go to Disneyland several times a year but on short notice (1-2months). What is the general availability of the studio units on weekend nights? Trying to determine if worthwhile to get some smaller points for usage instead of staying offsite.

Secondary question would be -- any benefit of Home Site points vs getting the cheapest anywhere for this type of use?

Thanks!

Not much timeshare inventory. You need to own at Grand Cal and book greater than 7 months.

That is a recipe for disappointment. Grand Cal is small and extremely popular. Only DVC at DL, so it books fast. I would not recommend purchasing it unless you can buy there and book at least 9-11months. Timeshare is a compromise. You give up some flexibility to get a savings the resort stays. If you can’t sacrifice that flexibility, keep doing what you are doing.
