So my 5yo son just had his 3rd open heart surgery. While he was in excruciating pain, I promised him we'd go to Disney. As an owner of SeaWorld I thought to stay there. Things that have happened thus far:

1. Tub had hair in it. (no one came and cleaned)
2. Asked for extra detergents 12 hrs later never received.
3. Obviously the worst is I got food poisoning from the restaurant on site (ordered the fish and chips). Which ensued an ER visit.
4. The manager offered to send me ginger ale. Three hours later I had to call back to get it.

All I asked was for some points to be refunded (2 of 3 days). I have been actually quite nice about everything. They refused stating "loss prevention" had to handle a claim. I have no clue what that means and LP has not reached out it be and its going on a couple of hours.

I know Hilton has its 100% guarantee, do we have any protections?

You may need to take it up the chain to HGVC corporate management.
Perhaps they'll assign someone with clout. Prepare to document everything.
Also post a review on Trip Advisor. They tend to get noticed.

BTW, the "guarantee" is on the hotel-side, not HGVC which is now separate.

Not to sound like someone with a lack of empathy, but WHY should you get 2/3 refund for finding hair in a tub?

Extra detergents are generally not free in a timeshare.

Food poisoning is an issue with the restaurant and perhaps you should get a refund, but how can anyone know for sure you got sick there and not somewhere else?

Why go to the ER for a sick stomach? There are cheaper options than that.

The ginger ale offer is sorta lame, but then again, what more do you expect?

As a side note, I do feel bad for you and your son as 3 open heart surgeries on a 5yo sucks. Perhaps you would be better at DVC or Disney hotel as the theme at Disney is far better than HGVC for Disney visits. Also, there are even newer HGVC resorts than SeaWorld.

I am sure your trip even before you left home was STRESS LEVEL MAX. Your ideal image was "the Magic Place" but even those places are NOT with a witch or two ... or even a playful elf. Then ADD in less than you expected. I hope you had someone else travelling with you ... but if not, even MORE stress.

This trip was for your son's enjoyment ... he will most likely mirror your emotions and vibes. Put that smile on and let the 'little' stuff roll off. If he is smiling, you are giving him what he needed.
