Newport, RI Resorts

Most of the Wyndham resorts in Newport, RI have an annotation, "All inventory at this resort has been placed on a temporary hold. Updates will be provided as they become available."

I called Newport Onshore and the gal that answered the phone said, "We don't do that here."

I called Wyndham PresRes reservations. The gal there said, "The resorts don't tell us when they do inventory." She had no idea why Onshore, for example, would be grayed out for the rest of the year.

Wonder what's up.

I didn’t see the note but I notice no availability till January in Newport and also Bentley Brook.

I know I sound like a broken record. . . . but, there is plenty of available inventory on Extra Holidays.

The same annotation was listed for Fairfield Plantation a few weeks ago. When I asked a Wyn VP contact, he said the resort was under evaluation and he would provide an update when it was completed. A few days later, inventory opened up again.

I can’t speak for the resorts in Newport, but it could be the same situation as with FP. The resort(s) could be under evalutation for one reason or another.

"Under evaluation" could mean most anything.

The annotation is no longer there but the three resorts still have no availability for the rest of the year.
