On this note of specific day check-ins, I may have read/known before but have forgotten the details recently, the computer may still match you to the other normal days check-in (like if you asked for Saturday only, other normal check-in days could be Fri and Sun), it takes a human to check the specific day request. The past two nights, I got matched/confirmed on an OGS (presumably by a computer) when their offices were closed on Fri and Sun check-ins when I had specified for Saturday only.

That's when they call you to see if you want it, just in case, knowing you selected another, and you can say NO.
Or you can specify your one single date only from the outset, and that you won't accept another, in which case they should never call.

Well, just an FYI that I just got matched/confirmed last night to a Sunday check-in for an OGS for Saturday-only check-in, and still no call from II YET TO CONFIRM if I still want the week.

If you were matched/confirmed then no call will come. They only call before confirmation.

I’ve been matched to a resort that wasn’t even on my request before. Unfortunately these things can happen when humans are involved that receive commission on exchanges.

The requested check-in day is behind the scenes so it is difficult to verify that it is actually tagged that way in the automated system or whether someone manually overrode the request.

... so it sounds like whenever I want to deposit to II I should be selecting "Owner Deposit". I had always selected Occupy... and thereafter went over to II and put in the confirmation number. So, Then what is the difference betweeen "Owner Deposit" and "Occupy"?

I have been doing this for the past 5 years, either online at 12 months or on the phone with a Marriott agent at 13 months. I stayed away from "Owner Deposit" because I was thinking that Marriott system or agent could just pick any week for me. Hence my question of Occupy vs. Owner Deposit. I have been using "Occupy" and then later go to II to put in the confirmation # to deposit.
In the end, it really doesn't matter which option you pick; Occupy or Owner Deposit. Marriott makes it work either way when you deposit either to II. I think the back end accounting is the only difference between the two and it is really transparent to the owner. If you are depositing, I suspect it is easier for Marriott if you pick one of the deposit options. For your sake though you should chose "Owner Deposit" since you can still pick your week.

It doesn't sound like they had your Sat checkin request in right. It shouldn't have matched to Sunday. If you got a match, it is a match. Not a hold. You have 24 hours to call. Though they may show some leeway if they have notes where you indicated you has requested a Sat only checkin for your request.

I think they had the Saturday check-in set correctly because I checked the OGS a few times since June by asking the rep check whether I had any check-in days specified. This is how I discovered the first rep who started the OGS for me made a mistake.

Also, several times, II rep basically mentioned sometime has to manually check for the specific check-in day requests, so conceivably something can be matched/ confirmed during the night when the representative is not available .

I don't use II much these days, but when I do now I always try to remember to get a screen shot after setting up the request.

If a quick call to II doesn't resolve this issue, email Mark, the II rep on TUG. Send him a screenshot of your request and I'm sure he'll correct it. He's always been great to deal with.

You cannot capture a screen shot for fixing a check in day. It is done by an II agent in the background.

Thanks, for the idea on Mark. What's his TUG name?
