We plan to attend a conference at the Marriott World Center in Orlando next May 28-June 2, 2019. We have a 2019 week (expiration date June 2021) to use, preferably for one of the Marriott Palms properties.

1- A May 26 check-in would be perfect, but I can’t figure out how to accomplish that with a search, as it requires me to accept any check-in day. Is there any way to be that specific?

2- Another option would be to check-in May 31 and rent a few days before with Destinations Points. I’m curious if anyone who owns those could tell me if any of the Palms are available May 28-31? I would prefer to rent after knowing which resort we have so that we don’t have to move.

3- If I see an exchange come up without the preferred check-in date and buy e-plus, will that effectively shorten my deposit to be valid only through 2020? (One year past the first exchange)

Morning! Ok, so you are looking for a Tuesday - Tuesday stay. All the Palms only have check-ins on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So, you will not get your full week with an exchange.

#1 II will automatically default your search to the Thursday before. So, if you put in Sunday the 26th - it will start searching for units starting with Thursday the 23rd. I have never done, but other here have stated you can call II and let them know you will only accept the Sunday check in.

    Can't help with #2

#3 - if it is just the check-in date you need adjusted. I would just do #1.

    Other:
RCI occasionally has inventory for Royal and Sable if you have an account with them.
It may be more cost effective for that week to purchase one or two getaways from II to cover the entire time you need there
Two short stays via II may also work

Thank you for the thorough response! I guess I’m asking about #3 in case there are cheap getaways. I’d love to have the long-term guarantee of an exchange, but if I can do it with cheap getaways instead, will I have shortened the deposit?
