The Guest Certificate (GC) given as a bonus, came in this morning from last Saturday's Daily Deals.

It's only good to December 14th of this year. Two months to use it, are you serious?

Looks like you need to pay $99 to extend the usage of the GC into April of 2018 (extra 4 month extension)

or $189 to extend usage into October of 2018 (extra 10 month extension).

Certainly this is new to me. Not sure if I would have done this if I knew ahead of time. No fine print listed before pulling the trigger, unless I missed it.

These are the normal terms for Accommodations Certificates. It was probably in the fine print.

Actually I did expand the terms and conditions and didn't see an expiration date. I was surprised. I didn't have time to call to verify so I didn't book anything. There's a possibility that there was no way of knowing before the purchase.

It does not expire on December 14. It expires on 10/13/2018. The December 14 is the eligible search window range for today because this AC can only be used for 59 days or less inventory. Tomorrow it will be December 15, etc.

If you notice when you try to extend it for 6 months the new expiration is April 2019, not April 2018.

Yes, the ACs that II gives for promotions like this are generally only good for flex time (about 2 months out), thus the reason why you are seeing only the next 2 months.

Are you looking at a different certificate than I am? You can only search with these through the last available checkin date since last day of travel can't be after expiration. Ours indicates it expires 12/24/2017. I can see checkin dates through the 17th for some properties. That is 7 days before the expiration date. I can't see how you extend these.

Which AC are you referring to? The OP and I are referring to the one that was just given as a daily deal a few days ago. In my case I did an exchange request to qualify for the AC. It is a flex AC that expires 10/13/18 but can be extended.

I have two other ACs of the same type given as a seasonal deposit promo. They are not flex restricted but can still be extended. I have two other types only one of which cannot be extended. I think the non-extendable was the 3BR freebie that everyone got.

I must be looking at a freebie one they just gave out at some points. It is the 3BR. I didn't take advantage of any of the Daily Deals.

Yes, yours is a freebie, I have one sitting in my account also with the same date range and 3BR.
