“New England covered bridges may have been built for function, but it's hard to deny their romantic beauty against a changing backdrop of New England's four seasons.

How can something so simple be associated with so much charm and romance? When it comes to covered bridges, New England seems to have more than its fair share, but we’re not complaining. Enjoy this collection of beautiful New England covered bridges spanning the four seasons. All images were submitted by our talented readers:

As more than frequent travelers to Vermont and New Hampshire, we have seen many of the covered bridges. Do want to get up to see the one in Stark, NH.

I remember once when my sister-in-law visited with us up in Vermont her comment was- "what is such a big deal about the covered bridges?" SMH....

We have one not far from us in Cornwall Bridge crossing the Housatonic River and there's a house about 6 miles away that has a covered bridge in his back yard crossing a stream.
I almost forgot the one about 10 miles north of us in Sheffied(?), MA near the Covered Bridge Restaurant (which is a pretty good place to dine).

I've walked across the one in Stark. Such a pretty spot! We love driving across them when we're out and about in New England. I always stop in the middle, make the kiddos make a wish, and then honk. ;) Making memories!
