I was at Desert Willow last week and visited the new concierge lounge for owners. They were selling Encore packages for future visits. I believe pricing started at either $199 or $299, and ran to $799 for Hawaii. These packages had from 3 to 5 night stays, and included 15,000 Bonvoy points. The packages were available for all Vistana Network properties.

I believe these have always been around. We stayed on one of these packages in early 2018 for 3 nights for $299, and came with 5000 SPG points at the time (15000 Bonvoy today). Usually a presentation is not required.

Encore is the product offering that Marriott has always offered that was similar to Explorer.

I was just offered an encore package at MCV for $995 for 4 nights (5 days) which can be used anytime over the next 18 months. There is an uncharge of $1000 for use during the month of March. Additional they give you 50K MRP after you attend the preview. I think this is a pretty good deal considering that it would cost $625 to purchase MRP. I know that MVCI used to offer Getaways for $299 for 3 nights (no MRP offered) which I assume you can still purchase. Does anyone have an update of Getaways (Preview packages) vrs. Encore packages and which choice might be better?

800 for a trip to Hawaii seems pretty good. How many bonvoy points came with it ?

Noted at the top, choice of $75 resort credit or 15,000 pts.

Rationalizing the purchase based on the Marriott price of points is not a good idea.

I love doing these presentations. Did one at Marriott Mountainside. $399 for 3 nights. 90 minutes presentation. If I was staying somewhere else, it would take me more than 90 minutes over 3 days to get to the lifts.

How do we get more of these?

is there a way to buy any of these MVC or Vistana packages if you are at a resort? We were at Lagunamar this month buy we were not offered any and I forgot to ask the concierge.

Are they going to limit the number of these you can purchase, like 3 per person during your lifetime for the old Starwood Explorer packages?

Just left the Lagunamar. We were offered the 5 days/4 nights package + 150,000 points for like $1850 USD. We would have taken it if the package was transferrable. Also, you don't get the 150,000 points until AFTER the package is used. The timing didn't work for how we might have wanted to use it.

I reread my post and i realized i made a mistake, my question was supposed to be if you can buy if you are NOT at the resort.

I got offered one at WSJ for one more night for a little bit more. I took it! you have to initial a lot of things. Looking forward to coming back next year. I don’t mind getting those 150,000 points afterwards.

I think you get offered these if you look half interested in their presentation, qualify as a potential buyer (you have to be at the resort), but you eventually say no. I’m not 100% sure but I think you may get the actual cost of the trip as a down payment... if you agree to purchase what they are selling... though wouldn’t swear on it. LOL! I heard lots of stuff. However for sure if there are two people on your deed you both have to attend the presentation. But not forced to buy in.

I think you have to attend an “owners update” to get one of these packages. Listen to the spiel and hope they offer it to you after you politely say no. usually the concierge will ask you right away about meeting with their sales team.

We declined to attend an owners' update at Waikoloa last week.

The Encore Package invitation was delivered under our door our last night there.
