New Bluegreen points owner, what next?

I will soon be the owner of 60,000 bluegreen points encompassing various resorts. I'm a total novice with points, we own a week in Orlando that we trade on II every other year. that has worked out great for us. I intend to use some of the points for a week or 2 in Marathon Fl every year. that is my primary interest. the remaining points yearly we may use for other Bluegreen points resorts or possibly sell them. looking for advice as to what to do or not do with Bluegreen, any advice is appreciated.

Ok, when do you plan on going to Marathon"time of year' ? Its very popular Dec-Mar, so if you can live with a studio they are the easier units to book at the 11 month window. Also any other South Florida bluegreen resorts the same applies, except for Daytona because there are more resorts there. I am a platinum bluegreen owner and can answer more specific questions to help you. Welcome. AL

My Interest in Marathon would be summer months starting May thru September one week at a time. i don't have a problem with a studio, its just my wife our 10 Lb dog and myself. I would be taking my boat,
I understand they charge an additional 3,200 points approx. for the boat slip. SO for about 17,200 points i'm good to go in Marathon. We also have interest in Sanibel and other west coast places for 2 or 3 days during the year also with no problem if it was a studio.

I just saw this post and can direct you to a very good FaceBook group to help you use your Bg points if you wish.

Pets are not permitted in any Bg resorts. Sanibel is next to impossible to get into and I belive it is a 7 day only resort but am not positive on that.

If your a veteran there is a Coast Guard station next door you may be able to launch your boat there for free. If your a Gold or Platinum owner then you might be able to waitlist sanibel in the summer months and get a week there.
