We are going to Maui this year and the Big Island next year. It just occurred to me to take our US National Park Pass with us. They charge $25 for parking at Haleakala National Park and $25 for parking at the Volcanoes National Park. If you have it, take your National Park Pass for the Hawaii National Parks. And, don't forget to take it out of the rental car. :)

Happy Travels! :)

That pass works well there. And if you're going up Haleakala for the sunrise, be sure to make a reservation in advance. Tickets are only something like $1.00. They want to make sure there is parking for everyone.

Thanks for the reminder. We have gotten great use out of my lifetime pass and will now make a note to bring it with us for our trip to Maui this fall.

Have a great time.

Best regards.

Although I am not looking forward to getting older, I am looking forward to the day I can purchase that pass. It should mean retirement!

Definitely get it once you are eligible and hopefully they don’t raise the price again before then. It’s still a great deal at $80, but I missed the lower price by one year. As Sinatra said “that’s life..”

Best regards.
