Florida has poor trading value (more supply than demand) so if you want to trade it for Hawaii, Colorado, and East Coast, you would be better off to buy in Colorado or the East Coast, and use that week for a (stronger trader) which can trade into Florida and other locations.

You may want to consider Vistana (Sheraton/Westin) which has:

-Resorts in Hawaii, Colorado, and East Coast.
-Top rated resorts.
-Vistana to Vistana priority for trading in Interval International.
-Timeshare for cheap and free on the resale market

However, you need a 2 bdm. with a party of 5, so you need to plan to spend more like $900-$1,200 for a top resort.

If you wish to trade that much it might be advantageous to look at timeshare points instead of a fixed week. Since you need a 2 bedroom it would probably be more affordable for you to rent from an owner unless you need very high demand weeks.

What kind of points?

He has kids in school, so he needs high demand weeks.

In general, Hawaii and a Ski week in Colorado are going to be more expensive to rent, rather than own.

Should I be looking for fixed week instead of float. They sold us a floating week in Branson but from what I'm reading sounds like it will be difficult to trade

It is no more difficult to trade a floating week, and fixed weeks are a lot more difficult to find.

With Vistana, to trade a fixed or floating week, you simply call or go online with Interval and deposit your (pre-registered) fixed or floating week, and then you put in an ongoing search for the week you want.

The only advantage to a fixed week would be if you owned a great date - like Christmas week or New Years week. But that will not be easy to find or cheap. Instead - I would try to find a high season floating week.

I would handle settling rescinding what you have purchased first. You are on a "short fuse" (eg. limited amount of time) to get that handled. After you follow the rescind instructions exactly as provided, you will then have plenty of time to learn about making a wise resale purchase.
