I'm asking this question for someone else who is an Embarc member but it could probably be answered by a DRI (former) member with a similar experience:
If someone makes an Interval reservation through the DRI exchange system for future use (say August 2019 - points are pre-paid in advance for that year at end of year 2017) but doesn't pay their annual fee in 2018, is that reservation in Interval still active and useable or does DRI cancel it?
Question is asked because:
1- the points are paid however can't be used at the Embarc resorts if the fees aren't up to date - even if they are already "pre-paid" since 2017
2- some members are walking away as DRI is currently refusing to take back Embarc points - they have 4% of total points in the Club and don't seem to want to go over that amount. It strikes members as very unfair to be losing $1000 to $2000 worth of points that have already been paid.
3- yes, selling/gifting among members is still a possibility for Embarc but for someone who hasn't planned this out far enough in advance and wants to stop paying their fees, may not have found a "buyer" yet.

I'm hoping there's TUG members out there who have an answer for this!

My understanding is that the member will retain the II reservation. After a reservation is confirmed in the II system, there is no way for Diamond to take it back. Similarly, if the member transferred their points to another person, an II reservation would be retained, even if the member's club account is closed.
