I have a 90 minute international connection in Mexico City T2 AeroMexico-AeroMexico coming up in December. AeroMexico said this is sufficient time to clear customs and make the connection as 90 minutes is their minimum. I called Delta who I booked the ticket through and they claim only an hour is minimum. I can't imagine either is enough time?!?!?!? The ticket was booked with more than 90 minutes connection time but subsequently had a schedule change leaving us with 90 minutes. They said they will not make any free changes due to the minimum being met. What is others' experience in connecting in Mexico City. Is 90 minutes really enough??

It should be and if you miss the connection it will be a free rebook at that time.

We will be headed to Cancun. A free rebook is the least of my concern rather getting to the beach without burning a night in Mexico City and paying for a hotel night that I miss. Is there a good travel insurance product out there that can insure against missed connections?

You are entering Mexico, not the USA. 90 minutes should be fine.

is there padding on your inbound flight time? What is its on time performance.

I was in and out of that airport in no time.

It will be right before Christmas so I can’t imagine it will be that easy. We have had other folks join us with similar connections and meeting us there in Cancun and they have all been stuck / delayed.
