I booked a week at Marriott's Villas at Seaview near Atlantic City for the end of March. It looks good on paper. Anyone familiar with it? Also, anything in the area that is a must do? I'd like to get a day trip to NYC. Any advice on that? Thanks.

I was there with my family of five in August and we had a wonderful time! Of course, our choice of activities at that time of year were golf and trips to Ocean City to enjoy the boardwalk and surf so that would probably differ from what you will do in March:) One very nice aspect of the resort is that it is close enough for a day trip to D.C., Philadelphia, and although New York is a little further, it is doable. We flew in and out of LaGuardia and it took up about 2 hours to get there from Fairway Villas.

The resort is smaller than some of the others and is in more of a residential type area. It was beautiful in August.

I visited the Elizabeth Arden Salon, and sadly, I was disappointed. Service was not great and the end result of my manicure was not good. However, they did gladly refund my money so that went a long way.

Have fun!

Thanks for your quick response. Is the use of the spa free for villa occupants? I realize services like massages and manicures would not be free, but the use of the saunas and steam rooms and the like. Since it will probably be chilly, a sauna sounds good.

You'll get many answers if you switch to the Marriott forum and do a search there. For whatever you don't find, ask on that forum.

My wife and I were there in September and like the place very much. My wife really enjoyed the Spa. There is a charge for spa services but the facilities such as the gym and pool area are available at no charge. The Spa was almost free because we took a timeshare presentation. I say "almost" free because we would have gotten out of there without spending a penny except my wife found some absolutely great spa cremes and what not that women seem to be genetically pre-disposed to require. There are mineral pools outside of the spa. I don't know if they are heated or if they will be open.

Things to do in the area would include a visit to Cape May. Beautiful old victorian houses, boardwalk, beach, eateries. Cape may is about an hours ride down the parkway. Definitely go into AC and walk out on the Caesars Palace Pier into the ocean. It has interesting shops and dining as well as great views of the shore line from out in the ocean. It is a long enclosed pier. Visit the village of smithville which is no more than 30 minutes away. Shopping and some very good eating. There is a natural wildlife preserve that has a road through the marshland very close to the resort. If you are into birds and natural scenery this is one not to miss.

In Cape May it is absolutely mandatory that you have a picture taken by the Cape May lighthouse which is one of the areas best known attractions. They also have free guided nature tours that leave the from the lighthouse which we enjoyed.

You might get some really nice weather in March. As you know that time of year is kind of unpredicatable.

I am sure you will have a great time. There might be some good shows in the AC casinos.

Please bring your golf clubs, they have a very nice course. The spa, the out door and indoor pool areas are nice.

Someone above mentioned flying into LaGuardia. I wouldn't if you can help it. Newark or Philadelphia would be better. There is an airport in AC, but you might not be able to connect to there easily from Iowa.

If you have kids with you, I think Great Adventure might be open in March.

Thanks for all the feedback. I am driving out. I'll be in MD for a meeting and do some family visiting as well. Will probably be at the resort only 3 or 4 days, but I have weeks in the spacebank to get rid of. Just wanted a few days of away time after the meeting. That area will be a nice change of scenery from Iowa.

As the traveler who flew into LaGuardia, I would not recommend it either. We only chose it after my 12 year old daughter and I were stuck at O'hare for 27 hours due to bad weather on the East Coast:eek:

We stayed ar Seaview four times and liked it. We prefer that area in late May or June or Sept. but i understand you have other commitments. You will like it if you are a golfer and their spa is superb. Plenty of restaurant choices within easy driving distance. Relaxing atmosphere. Try to stay a full week, its worth it.
