We're stepping out of our comfort zone (Hawaii :)) and planning a trip to Thailand in March 2019. I've put in a II request for an exchange to either one of the Marriott vacation clubs in Phuket. a. is this a hard exchange or reasonably doable? b. do they do a bulk bank and when is it normally, I think I saw one recently which was September/October for March 2018. c. which of the Marriotts is better or are they both good? we're two adults and will have a 9 year old by then.

Going to the marriotts is not the main part of the trip, just the end bit before we come home. I have two searches happening one with a Marriott week and the other with Worldmark.

thanks for reading,
J

We exchanged our week 39 2 BR Grande Chateau unit for a 2 BR week 28 unit at Phuket Beach Club in 2015. Loved it and Thailand overall. You'll love the country; a b!tch to get to but great once you're there. We have a great tour guide we used when we were there; let me know if you want her info. Spoke great English; studied at SUNY Albany.

I used 2, 1 bedroom Marriott weeks for 2 consecutive weeks at the Phuket Beach Club for this November 26 th thru December 10 th. 1 week was an instant exchange and the other was a request which took less than 48 hours to confirm. We booked last January 17. I think you will get your exchange no problem. My understanding is the Beach Club is a more preferred location and closer to the beach. I will have more info once we return if you have specific questions.

I use my grand vista thanksgiving week 1 bedroom to request next summer July and got a match within 2 days. I just need to pay the $59 upgrade fee for a 2 bedroom unit

"High" season is December,January, February, March. It is always hot but the rainy or monsoon season is less desirable. The rainy season usually ends at the end of October or first weeks of November.

When would you say the rainy season generally begins

Traded Sheraton Desert Oasis there 4 times. Super easy in off season and even got 2 - 2 bedroom units in July 2013 for the extended family.

It should be easy. Why not just buy it. Every week this year is available for sale on Getaways.
