Hi
How is the marriott reservation system. Is it easy to reserve a platinum week in Mallorca. I have recently bought a platinum week on resale in son atem and planning to go last week of august next year. I know we have to book 12 months in advance, but even if what are my chances
Anyone with recent experience with booking european marriott please share.

If you get in early enough you shouldn't have much of a problem. I've heard mutterings that it's becoming more difficult to book a week due to the points system but from our experience booking gold holiday weeks we've only encountered difficulty when we've forgotten to book enough in advance.

I'm not sure there are many platinum Son Antem owners on here, we're a small bunch as it is so I don't foresee you receiving much in way of responses. Son Antem is one of the resorts with the highest owner occupancy rate, it's rarely deposited as an exchange because us owners love it so much. Yes, August is the period of peak demand so you would need to get in early to secure a reservation just like any other resort. What is your primary intention, to stay at the resort during August every year or mainly to use it as a trader/renter?

My intention is to use as a trader and also renter. I dont intend to stay there
I want to travel in december last week to diff locations.
Is it easy to rent this on redweek. I am looking for 1900 euro as I pay 1100 maintainance.
How is your experience booking platinum. 12 months in advance would fo the trick.

I've no experience booking platinum as we own Gold Holiday however we've never had any problem booking our desired weeks other than those occasions when for various reasons we've left it months too late. 12 months out should do the trick.

I've no experience of renting on Redweek however I have rented from Fab Timeshare, a Spanish based timeshare rental agency specialising in Marriott and have had good experience, here's their current availability for August https://fabtimeshare.com/marriotts-club-son-antem-rentals/#
As you can see, there's not a great amount which suggests that most owners are occupying, this could mean one of two things for you, either you'll be in a good position because demand would be high or people have given up trying to trade/rent because there's never enough availability. The reason we bought Son Antem was because we could never secure a trade during the school holidays so theoretically it should be a good trader.

Price wise, we've rented two villas for friends joining us this coming May and a two bedroom villa was £1300 from Fab Timeshare which is just over $1700. A platinum week should rent for higher, quite possibly the $1900 you're looking for.
