You'll get two points per dollar spent on a Bonvoy Amex or Visa card.

I wonder. Could you go to a local marriott and purchase gift cards, earn your max points and then use the gift card to buy the points?

Hilton and IHG have 100% offers different times during the year. 25% doesn't seem like too much. Anyone here thinking about buying? I'm still on the fence.

No, sorry , I should have been clearer. Whatever amount of points you are buying, they match it for the usual cost. It would be like if Marriott said buy 50,000 points, get double that for the $625. So 100,000 points for $625. IHG and Hilton have a max of 100,000 points a year now you can buy, and when they run the deal you get 200,000.
