Does anyone have any information about renting here? I see a Facebook page titled The Manhatten Club Timeshare Scam as well as some comments a few months back on here about legal actions occurring at this property. Is this property still able to be rented...although if there is this type of issue occurring why would I want to rent there? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

It is available for rent. You can often get discounted stays when booking through SFX. Owners are unhappy there. People who exchange in and rent to stay there are usually very happy.

Brewster Green (two weeks).
I traded in through RCI for The Manhattan Club several years ago for my daughter and son-in-law to use for a week and they loved it. The only problem they had was the slow elevator. Now, my timeshare, Bluegreen, has acquired some units and I can go via points or Bonus Time and am hoping to do so soon.

We have stayed there twice. It is beyond awesome - even in the small room we had the second time. Great location. Great place.

I have stayed there three times. The first 2 times we stayed for 2 consecutive weeks but they don't allow that any more. We have always had a wonderful time. The location is unbeatable.

The only dark side is with housekeeping. The first 2 trips housekeeping kept leaving our door open. Not unlocked but actually opened. We complained several times to management but they we uninterested and unresponsive. For the rest of our trip I would go upstairs to the office/lounge while they cleaned then come down and make sure the door was closed before leaving for the day. During our most recent stay I just left a "do not disturb" sign on our door. Of course that got me in trouble. The head of housekeeping and a guy from security showed up unannounced one morning. The said that if you have a "do no not disturb" sign on you door for more than 3 days then they have to inspect your room. They saw my kids still in their PJs on the sleeper sofa playing with their iPads. That was it.

I think you'll have a great time. Just don't plan on leaving anything of value in your room.

The scam part applies to owners. Owners have a super hard time getting a reservation. Exchangers do not. I have been offered some really prime weeks. Owners also pay very high MFs. You can rent directly through Manhattan Club for cheaper than the MF.

The last time I attended a MC sales presentation, one of the criteria for attending was that "I do not know any current or past Manhattan Club owner." Guess they don't want you to know the truth about ownership there.
