For what it's worth...
Ok, so I purchased a time share in Florida, and I'm from outside US. I got here and realized I'm already 18 days since I signed and I do want and need to cancel....
Please help...what can I do?
Thanks!!!!
Unfortunate family matters notwithstanding, you really have no legal recourse for unilateral contract cancellation at this late date, unless there were legal or procedural errors at the time of contract execution. That's not likely --- Florida sales weasels have been at this game for a long time and are pretty slick.
That being said, you could still certainly
ask (in writing, not by phone) to be released from the contract, perhaps even mentioning a willingness to voluntarily forfeit the deposit you paid at the time of purchase. The developer might very well realize that they really have little or no leverage over you if you are actually located in in Brazil and announce clearly that you will pay
nothing further. They
may accordingly be willing to just "release you", keep your deposit money and then sell the same "product" all over again to someone else instead. Personally, I don't see much risk, harm or downside (apart from forfeiting your deposit) to at least making the request...
