I have a two bedroom, specific lockout unit, and I only need a one bedroom, so I would like to rent the studio. I called Hyatt and they told me that I could only use the one bedroom, but I could not get another reservation for the studio, that it would have to go into points. Is this correct? The representative on the line went and checked with her supervisor, but I would think that this is my unit and I should be able to get a separate reservation for it. Hopefully I explained this correctly.

    Thanks
    Donna

This issue was discussed previously. You cannot get HRPP reservations for both sides separately. At least you cannot do it online. If you reserve 1br during HRPP, the is studio automatically converted to CUP points. If you reserve your studio during HRPP, the 1br is automatically converted to CUP points.

Someone has reported success getting HRPP reservations for both sides separately by phone, but I think that was an exception. I believe the rule is you cannot do that.

    Hi
Why not reserve your two BR unit, and rent the studio yourself. Since you will be there occupying the 1BR just ask for the lockoff door to be locked and the entries to have separate keys. They only limit you to one reservation but if you own the entire unit you can do as you wish as far as use. You can rent here on TUG or use Redweek.

I would think that someone that rents the unit would want a reservation in their name with a separate reservation number. I can't see how redweek would be able to verify the studio.

I own a lock out and for my week, I do get two separate reservations. You can not do this online, you have to call.
There was a small charge for what they call the second reservation, about $40.00. You have to call HYATT, to request, tell them, if the agent does not understand how, that they have to call corporate to do so. Then you can go online and get a guest certificate for whom ever. (I rent it)

The first time I tried, I was told no way, I called back and got someone knowledgeable and no problem. Now when they say no way, I refer them to my history and tell them to call corporate.

If you reserve your week as a two bedroom, I have read that the resort will not lock it out when you arrive.

The "Can I split my HRPP deeded lock off into 2 separate reservations" topic has been plowed numerous times here on TUG.

Reserving both the A and the B side of a lock off as two separate reservations can be done. You have to call the 800-Go Hyatt as it can't been done online. The Go Hyatt crew will reserve the whole two bedroom unit and will send a request to Corporate to split the unit into 2 reservations. ONLY Corporate can do the split.

FWIW: An HRPP deeded week is yours to do with as you please, what good is a lock off if you can't it lock it off? If you get an GO Hyatt agent that says it can't be split, hang up and call back and get another agent. Note: you get one free HRPP reservation, so when splitting a lock off into 2 reservations, you'll have to pay for the 2nd HRPP reservation.

Here is the latest-I called and was transferred to a higher power and was told that the department that handled this was not available until Monday. On Monday I checked and they had me booked in my one bedroom, but put the balance into points. I will call them today, but not feeling too good about this. I have called and talked to three different reps and they all tell me the same thing, I cannot get two reservations. I will keep trying as I have another two bedroom unit for the following week, again another lockout. Hyatt does not make this easy.

The department that splits a 2 bd into two reservations is "Corporate" Hyatt - they work 8-5 on M-F. Agreed, they do not make it easy - why an HRC owner can't talk directly to Corporate Hyatt is beyond me. However perseverance pays off - so stick with it.
