    Hello TUG,

We are a family of two adults, a nine year old and a nine month old. We own EOYE at WKORV oceanview and WKORVN oceanfront. I booked one week in a one bedroom in each resort. We would prefer to have one bedrooms for the rest of our stay. I decided to try and use the 148,000 star options I have left to book the 3rd week of July and the first week of August in either resort in a one bedroom (12 or 13 nights depending on the start day).

I have forgone the opportunity to book studio weeks. I am getting a little nervous as the time approaches to try and utilize the star options.

Does anyone have experience booking these resorts during this time of the year? Should I just book the studios? Any tips or insights?

All help is truly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi -
If I understand correctly - you are only interested in using the 1Bd side, and want to use the SOs from the studio side to reserve the 1Bds. And limited to end July to early Aug..

If you open the availability for 1Bd for both north and south (forget Nanea - waste of computer search time), AND reserve online exactly (exactly) at 8-months - you shouldn’t have a problem. But the 1st week in August is tough (Golden Week I recall).

I do the same - as we prefer a separate bedroom. Of course the highest preferred weeks will be harder. I do my in separate reservations as it appears that works best location wise.
I reserve our OF first, then SO (81K/week) at eight months. Has worked very well, but we travel in Sept. We got an 1Bd OFD at WKORV for 81K SOs (surprise and delight) in 2018. Then make the Sun-Fri SO reservation the following week.

The OF studio has same SOs for a week in a 1Bd, and the non-OF studio gets 6 nites in 1Bd (Sun-Fri), and have to burn the SOs leftover.

I think you'll have 134,200 options left over which as you say will be good for 12/13 nights in a 1BR at WKORV/N. Looking at the way 2020 is shaping up and from past experience I think you are going to find it difficult to get a single booking for that length of time at the 8 month window for a 1BR in July/August. As David points out you'll probably have to work the system to get either a pair of 7/6 or 6/6 night bookings end to end. Of course, doing it that way you'll always have the stress of securing the 1st booking and then having to wait 6-7 days to see if you can get the 2nd booking.

What day are you checking in? If you checked in on Sunday, I see availability for 13 nights using most of your 148,000 SO. What's encouraging is that at the moment, it doesn't state, "low availability" above the booking date. Of course, that could change as you get closer to your booking date later this month. Since, you looking for July and August, you may have to "play around" with your check-in dates. I've even booked a reservation with an early(overlapping) check-in weekday date, just to get the days that I wanted. Good luck and keep checking the availability! CJ

Thank you all for responding. My check in day is a Friday.

I have been practicing. Yesterday, I made a reservation for 5 days prior to my current reservation. Now, I will wait until the 24th and attempt to make a reservation for 8 nights.

Do you think I should try to make a reservation for 7 nights and another for one night? Will the system allow me to make a reservation for 8 nights?

As long as you are using SO at the 8-month window, you will be able to make a reservation for the 8 nights. CJ

That's great! Glad that it's working out for you! So, you need your next check-in date to be the 25th? CJ

Are you trying to book 4 weeks in a row ... if so that is awesome.

Can’t imagine having the time for that.

I'm sure that you'll remember, but if you want your ck-in date to be the 24th, you need to be online the night of the 23rd. CJ

Thanks CJ. I will be online on the 23rd.

Yes, carpie99, I am blessed to be able to take 4 weeks off during the summer for vacation. Luckily, my better half is a guidance counselor who has off the whole summer. I try to vacation as much as possible.

If it's available, you can book 21 nights on the same confirmation.
