We are looking at a resale of a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom in the Banyon building here. Fixed week but floats the whole year. Can anyone advise us what the RCI points value would be? Most likely we would use the week (and more) but like the option of exchanging if we want to go elsewhere.

Thanks, James

RCI points are an add on to the deeded week.

TPUs are the trading point units within RCI for WEEKS OWNERSHIP ... 2 different points system connected to RCI and members ownership. Are ONLY in the life of exhanges .. not something on the deeded week and can change based on WHEN deposited, season of the year and OTHER DEMAND factors within RCI Weeks.

If I have an RCI Points week, that number is almost always 44,000 or 22,500 or 66,000.

If I have an RCI Weeks units and deposit it into RCI Weeks, that number is like 46, 30, 66

Resort indicates that the unit is not registered with RCI currently, but the resort supports both points and weeks. Interested in what the points value is.
Thanks

To deposit it in points, you would have to pay a very large enrollment fee of hundreds/thousands of dollars - totally not worth it. If you want points, buy a week that is already enrolled in points.

This is from the RCI website. I am not sure, does that not indicate that the resort is points, or would I, on purchase have to do something to enroll the unit? I guess I do not understand the process.

Thanks for help

YOU either have to BUY a week in RCI points from a private party OR convert your fixed/floating (that you) own to points THRU the resort .. if they are offering an RCI Points conversion option... Think thousands of dollars .. this is a resort 'moneymaker.

RCI Points is a 22,000 or 40500 or XX,000 number per week .. (determined by RCI as to season, unit size, resort grade level).

TPU point values are Trading Point Units for RCI weeks .. dependent upon resort rating, season, unit size and time frame window deposited over usage to RCI. Those values are 2 digit values (like 11, 14, 28, 36, etc).

The funny part about RCI Points is that they allow the resort to charge anything they want to convert into RCI points.

OK, found out some info that I will share for others looking at this..

Talked to resort this morning. If we buy and put the week in RCI points then all weeks go to RCI points automatically. We would have to bid on the RCI points system to get the week we own (and hope it is available / unlikely). We can also join RCI weeks. In that case it is up to us to decide to bank the weeks or not, following the RCI weeks banking rules. So, for Lawai, they do not bank weeks at the resort. One needs to go through one of the time share companies they are affiliated with.
Lawai Beach Resort does allow you to use weeks from the future, up to two years (I think) if you prepay the expected maintenance fees.

This is my understanding from a few conversations. Always a good idea to confirm for yourself.
