Nice work, Sandra! The Napali is one of my favorite places on Kauai.

Beautiful! We were there a month ago. Saw the Kalalau Valley from the top.

The drive up to the valley lookout looked too cloudy, we didn't think we'd see anything. So we turned around to go back down to the canyon lookout. I haven't seen Kalalau from the top for over 25-30 years.

When I took the same cruise route about 7-8 years ago, there were sailboats out on the Na Pali coast to complement my pictures back then too!

Awesome pictures but Na Pali does make everyone a great photographer. :)

When we sailed the Na Pali Coast several years ago we did it on a large Zodiac out of Hanalei. It was great fun and we went into several sea caves. Then near The southern part for snorkeling. The trip back was challenging as the wind and waves had increased. But that didn't detract from the great time. Though I doubt the only other couple on the trip had the same opinion. She was in a dress and he was wearing Dockers and a nice shirt.

Hopefully by then the Road past Hanalei will be open to Ke'e Beach. If you want a challenge, hike the Kalalau Trail to Hanakapiai Waterfall. It is more of a climb than simple hike. Trek Sticks will help. It is 4 miles each way. It took us 8 hours. That included about 30 minutes on the Beach at the half way point and about an hour at the Waterfall. We did this 2 years ago when we were only 62. Remember to carry lots of water and some food.

Yes we were only able to see Kalalau from top maybe 20% of the time, but we were lucky last time!

I was there in May, and took a similar ride.....great pictures. As far as the Kalalau lookout is concerned, I always recommend going up there.....such an incredible view! If the clouds have come , take a short hike, relax with a cool drink....they often lift, and you won't regret the extra time spent there. I suggest that people go past the views of Waimea Canyon and go to the Lookout first to give you a better chance for a good view at the lookout; the canyon will still be there as you come back down.
