After being a member of SFX since 1998 and losing many years of deposits due to the inability to match any requests, I want to explore either joining RCI or II. My main trading resort - Pacific Grove Plaza, trades with both.

I know that our requests are hard trades, but we would be looking for Big Island Kohala resorts around Christmas time and Austin, TX in Feb/March/September/October. The only other place we venture to is Telluride during June for the Bluegrass festival.

Does anyone have any insight or should we just continue to use VRBO for Austin and have all of the family crammed into our home during the Christmas holidays.

What were you hoping to get in exchange for your week at Pacific Grove Plaza? That could help with advice.

For Big Island - Kohala, RCI has the Hilton Bay Club, Kohala Suites, and Kings Land. Bay Club is the easiest to get. I believe Bay Club has already made a bulk deposit, and there should be a bulk deposit for the other two coming up soon.

The only timeshare I know of in Austin is the Wyndham/WorldMark. Both trade through RCI.

Interval only has Paniolo Greens, north of Waikoloa.

Since you own a week in a high demand area (Monterey/Pacific Grove), you may also wish to rent it out for cash, and then rent the accommodations of your choice.

Mahalo - Before moving here permanently, we would trade into Bay Club with SFX. Unfortunately we have been unable to secure a trade with them for our family. RCI does look like our best bet, but the fees are quite a bit higher tha SFX so I will have to think about making the switch. We will not be depositing into SFX again as I have already lost two weeks and the cost of a three year diamond membership which expires today. They used to be a great exchange company for us, but the past four years has not provided any exchanges for us.

What week or season do you own at Pacific Grove Plaza? Is it 1br or 2br? RCI Weeks members can then check to see what TPU you would receive for that unit.
