Hello,

Please help!

I just joined TUG because I'm trying to sell my 2 Harborside Resort at Atlantis II timesshares, I paid this company SellMyTimeshareNow $1600 to list my timeshare and then I found this forum. I'm 2 days away from my 10 day cancellation period, does anyone have any info on them? They suggested listing for $24,800.

Thanks

Take a look at eBay completed listings - most Atlantis units sell for less than $500, with only a couple going for slightly more. This is due to the high Bahamas closing costs, and the astronomical maintenance fees.

They'll list yours for $24,800, and they'll sit there for sale for years.

I have never heard of an upfront fee company that was legit.

Look at it this way - since you paid them upfront, why should they care if your timeshare sells or not?

You should absolutely cancel, and dispute it with your credit card!

BTW - If you call them, you will only get a load of BS.

I would send them a firm email, followed up with a certified letter.

I'd also immediately dispute it with your credit card.

Don't call them - don't take their calls.

From what I've heard about them over the past few years is that they are legit, that is, they will list your unit on their site.

Why in the world would anyone pay that kind of money just to have their unit listed on a website that many prospective buyers never heard of?

There are many places you can list for free of close to it. The fact that they suggested you list at that ridiculous high price should show you that they don't have your best interest's at heart.

Get your money back now before it's too late. I would ask them to cancel and I would contact my CC company and explain you are canceling the contract and want the payment put back in your account.

Hurry, the clock is ticking.

SMTN actually comes up high on Google/Bing searches for resorts. It makes me wonder if any buyers actually get sucked in to an overpriced resale before doing more research--TUG comes up near the top in most of the searches I've done, so let's hope not.

At any rate, I see SMTN as a prop website. Something to give victims peace of mind that their timeshares are being actively sold, and for the amount the lister promised. A "soft scam" at best, if you ask me.

RUN Forrest, RUN!

Get your money back or kiss it goodbye!

Their goal is to make money--whether your timeshare sells or not. IMHO.

I would cancel. Harborside prices are all over the price. There are some units that still command a good price but most do not. If you own a fixed week 51 or 52 or a 3 br summer platinum or winter platinum plus, you may want to find a broker to help with the sale. If you own in the fall float season or any fixed week that isn't during high season you may not be able to give away your week without covering the $2000+ transfer costs.

Is SellMyTimeshareNow legit

Thank you ALL so much for the advice I have heeded your warnings and sent them a letter of cancellation both by Priority Mail and email. I will be calling my bank in a few minutes to dispute the charge. So now I have to figure out what to do with my ownership if it's worth very little. Any suggestions please?
