We were supposed check into Belair Beach on SXM on 9/23. Two weeks for us and a week for friends.
We changed last week to Royal Villas on the recommendation of a customer service rep at RCI. She said that once Belair cancels our reservation, our deposit weeks would be refunded as well as the exchange fees and guest cert.
Today, we got the cancellation from RCI. I called to find out when we would get the refund.
This is unbelievable and directly related to cash flow, in our opinion.
We were told that because of Irma, they were not refunding deposits but creating "Coupon Credits" for use on another trade. The amount they had listed was half what we paid upfront.
So this is a warning..... If you have a trip cancelled because of Irma, call to make sure you get the correct amount credited. At this time, you won't get your money back.
