Yes, Interval’s Club Interval Gold points system has been around for quite a while, but seems to be little known or used.Interval has had (has?) a points system for years.
AFAIK, it was never a success. Of course, now that I said that, somebody will jump in this thread to tell me how much they love it!!!
I think its: What is Club Interval Gold? Club Interval Gold is a flexible, points-based exchange program which gives members the opportunity to exchange their fixed or floating weeks for Club Interval Points.
don't hold your breath on that one.
Salesman? manipulating the facts to fit his/her sales needs? Nah...
couldn't possibly happen
On my last owners update (last year) at harborside at Atlantis. Let me rephrase that, On the last time I went to the sales pitch for a free bottle of rum they tried selling me interval points. Of course I laughed and swigged from the bottle. When the “closer” came out, (don’t you love when you laugh at the sales rep and they get the closer and the closer comes out saying,”so I understand you’re ready to sign right now”) the closer was asking why I was wasting their time if I wasn’t going to buy haha. I said because I’m a pirate and a pirate never passes up a bottle of rum lol. I digress, at harborside even though it’s a Vistana resort they were selling interval points, not any of the flex programs.
I’m a member of the interval group on Facebook and many of those people have points. I don’t think they get great resorts.
They were selling me ILG points. Not Sheraton flex. I was already familiar with Sheraton flex since Vistana tried selling me that over the phone two years ago.I can't imagine who would have been selling interval points at Harborside. If it was any kind of Vistana agent it would have been flex that trade as points in interval vs the deeded units which exchange in interval as actual units and not x number of points. Depending on the date it also could have been Marriott points but unless you were meeting with the reps from a different resort entirely there are no club interval points sold based on a Harborside unit. Club interval points are only sold at resorts without an internal points system.
Then they must have been selling it from another resort, even if they were onsite at Harborside. Since you didn't buy you likely don't have any paperwork but I am sure that if they were CIG points they were associated with another resort. Vistana is selling 3 types of trust points and Harborside isn't a part of any of the 3 but it isn't associated with a straight interval points either. They were selling me ILG points. im familiar with star options. They weren’t selling me star options. Since it isn’t associated with the 3 trust points they are selling they could be selling the ILG points. St. John isn’t in Westin flex, I wonder what they are selling there. Although Vistana over the phone was willing to “get special approval” to sell me a deeded week in St. John if I wanted. Cause ya know, I was a special customer they normally don’t do that anymore hahaThen they must have been selling it from another resort, even if they were onsite at Harborside. I didn’t go on the update in May, maybe I’ll go over Labor Day week when I go backThen they must have been selling it from another resort, even if they were onsite at Harborside.
