I pooled points prior to the new Wyndham “point deposit” rules...

I pooled my 2017 & 2018 points in each of the past two Januarys. That would give me a three year use window under the old rules. How should the points show in the new system?

I am seeing points that expire December 31, 2017 in my account. In reality, those should expire in early 2019.

Are there other ways Wyndham accounts for points pooled under the old rules?

TY

As it relates to the points pooled under the old credit pool, go to the new website, then to Ownership, then to points, towards the upper left corner of the page you should see the information on the points, use the drop down box to see the entries. In the start date section you should see a date for the year you deposited the points and a date you have to use them by. The dates should be about 3 years apart. These would be in addition of current year allotment of points which could range from zero to whatever the number you are allotted in the year minus what you have used.

Thank you. I will check on a computer or laptop. It may just be that I can’t see it on the mobile version. Really appreciate your reply!

Forgive me that I cannot find where this might have been answered before, but am I recalling correctly that points (including points pooled under the old "credit pool" system) are used in the order in which they expire?

My concern is that I have 189,125 pooled points expiring 12/29/2018, 148,500 pooled points expiring 12/26/2019, and 266,000 2018 regular use year points. I have a reservation to make for 2018 that requires 213,200 points. The 189,125 points expiring 12/29/2018 should be used first, but which group would be used for the balance? It would seem that the 2018 regular use year points would, but obviously I would like to use the pooled points expiring 2019.

Do I have this wrong, and/or should I call a VC to see if the 2019 pooled points can be used for the balance?

Thanks in advance!

Are all of the pooled points the old credit pool? I suspect your 2018 use regular use year points will be used first. Give the VC a call and check.

Why would you prefer to use the pooled points expiring in 2019 first?

Probably because he believes if the regular use year points are used up, the ARP is gone. Based upon what we have been told, that should not be an issue. However, not everyone at Wyndham believes this to be true, or at least understands the concept.

Case in point, I have four Bonnet Creek contracts that are missing ARP benefits, and the "specialist" working with me assumes it is because my 2018 use year points are already used. I am attempting to convince him this is not true. I have other contracts that the ARP still works and the ARP pool allows me to view and reserve rooms at the other resorts. I finally gave up arguing with him (me getting ignored) and cancelled some reservations so that 2018 use year shows enough points to populate all the BC contracts. And, still no ARP for those contracts. But ARP for the other contracts. So, the data migration issues from May are still causing ruin.

Do you have anyone else I can email or call about this? I am literally down to the last day that this can be fixed, as my 13 month window for the dates I want starts tomorrow.

Avislo - yes...all pooled under the old credit pool.

Ron - I would like to use the pooled points expiring 2019 first because I could deposit the 2018 regular use year points out to 2020...or am I missing something?

We got the same explanation when I complained that we couldnt do an ARP reservation at La Belle Maison and several other of the resorts we own. (We kept bitching until they did a ticket). The next time We called (because the problem hadnt been corrected) we were transferred to the Priority Team... ultimately we got this email

I wanted to follow up with you about a priority case that was open.
I understand that there are some issues when trying to book in the ARP window. (Past 10 months)
And we are highly aware of this situation and currently doing our best to make sure we get this issue resolved for you as quickly as possible.
We do sincerely apologize about this issue that has been going on for quite some time now, but this is a follow up to let you know that we are indeed working diligently on your account to make sure it is operating and working as intended.
We do apologize about the delay, you will be receiving another follow-up very soon within the upcoming week with more information regarding the status on your account.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Carlos Romero (Priority Team)

the email was sent from OSPriorityTeam@wyn.com but Id guess that Carlos can be reached at Carlos.Romero@wyn.com Id call and ask to be transferred to the priority team

got it

I dont know when you can deposit the regular 2018 points but it sounds like you should deposit them as soon as you can or start planning some vacations

OK...so I called a VC and wanted to share with you what I was told.

Points will indeed be used in the order in which they expire.

VCs cannot help you use specific points buckets to get around the above (or I assume whatever other reason you have).

I asked if I could deposit my 2018 regular use year points into a future year, so that my 2019 pooled points would be the first expiring points to be used for the balance of my reservation. The short answer is yes...BUT, apparently one cannot deposit points until the use year for those points has already begun (i.e. - 1/1/2018).

So I am left to make the reservation (might as well do it online) using 2018 expiring pooled points and 2018 regular use year points. At least I only have to use 24,075 regular use year points...

For the expiring 2018 points, when you make the reservation, please let us know if the regular use year points or the credit pool 2018 points were used first.

Just made the reservation...my point balances were adjusted immediately and reflected use of the 2018 regular use year points.

...to clarify, the above is in reference to the 24,075 points needed over and above the 189,125 points used from the 2018 expiring pooled points.

Thanks. I have been told it was both ways by different call center employees. Most recent one was earlier today and that representative indicated that the points that expire first should be used first. Others (most) indicate that that regular use year points are used before the credit pool points.

In another words, you are saying the 2018 credit pool points were used before the 2018 regular use year points?

This is as I expected. the 12/29/18 points were used before the 12/31/18 points. Good to have the confirmation.

Correct - 12/29/18 expiring pooled points used before the 12/31/18 expiring regular use year points.

That is disheartening to hear that some/most VCs are saying that regular use year points are being used before the credit pool points??

Their assumption is that you pooled points this year and they expire in 2020

My Point Balances have been erratic for more than a year* which I had hoped would be resolved in the new system.

It was not ....
Alas the 2018 and 2019 points I pooled Before pooling was 'outlawed' in April did not appear to have transferred correctly. Too many points showed up with a Dec. 31 2017 Use Year End Date.

I did not dispute the totals as displayed because I feared the delay amid the chaos of the new system might be more disruptive than a future Wyndham cure which might ultimately be worse than the diseased data transfer.

Currently, the website gives me THREE different Account Point Balances for making a reservation in DECEMBER 2017.

#1> A "Flash Alert" says I have 185K pts expiring Dec. 31;
#2> The reservation system shows only 79K points available;
#3> The "Points Calculator" says I have 202K points.

AND -- the Points Deposit function shows a ZERO balance available to deposit forward into 2018 or 2019

And just for grins/giggles -- the drop down "use year" totals are incomprehensible because it shows 16 different entries for "current use year" and Five for "future use years". The future years have a cumulative balance of Negative 472K points that I assume is the net effect of transactions done since the new system debut in late May.

If I actually have 100+K points MORE than the actual Reservation Function shows available, how do I use them before they expire on Dec 31?

Now I am Hoping Anew that 2018 will bring clarity ..... so I will know how many points I have for 2018 and 2019 which I had "pooled" in the old system before pooling was 'outlawed' in April

* I was one of the "little fish' caught up in the "Big Freeze" of 2016.
Fortunately for me, I was among the first to be 'thawed' and subsequently 'set free' after minor adjustments to my account.
