I am wondering if anyone has used the "Edit Guests" section on the new Hyatt website. I was going to get a guest certificate for my sister, but if I go to this section, it lists my name and says to make sure that the primary or secondary guest will be checking in. Can I just put her name as the secondary guest and she will be able to check in without my having to purchase a $30 guest certifcate? This was never an option that I recall with the old system. Thanks for any tips.

Have not tried that on the new website. However would expect that you can list someone as a secondary guest at no cost if you'll also ne at the resort the same time. The advantage of doing that would allow your sister access to the unit if she got locked out and you were not nearby. But if you will not be present at the resort at time of check-in or during the week, the only way they're going to allow your sister to check-in is with a $30 guest certificate. FWIW: if your sister uses your unit occasionally, you should opt for the one time $32 affidavit that makes your sister a "joint member" - you would never have to get another guest certificate for her.

Thanks for the information. Is the affidavit on the Hyatt website? My sister does use my nights every year, so saving $ would be nice.

Discussed here:

Note that your sister will have the same rights as you to make/cancel reservations on the account -- they are treated as if they are an owner, so you'd want some level of trust here versus just avoiding a guest cert fee now and then. (I didn't want to make any assumptions on your trust level with your sister :) )

Thanks for the link to the older thread and for the information. I trust my sister , and she has let me use her Hilton points and RCI account often. She would probably never need to book anything at Hyatt (I hardly have any points anyway), but she does go to Carmel every year using my points. Thanks again!
