How to get additional RCI Points?

We own a timeshare that we use exclusively to trade through RCI as points but right now we only have a small number of points left in the RCI account, and won’t get our new allotment until October. (We can’t borrow points from the future allotment unless the reservation is for next year, but we’re looking to book something now).

Is there a way to add more points to an RCI account without purchasing an additional timeshare? Renting points directly through RCI seems to be really expensive.

There's been some previous threads on TUG about buying additional RCI Points without adding more timeshare ownership. There are probably some listings now in the Marketplace.

You can get/rent points from another owner. Do an owner to owner transfer. Look in the ads here on the TUG Marketplace and eBay.

I had a guy call me from RCI one day asking me if I wanted to extend my points. I told him no, they weren't close to expiring. A few weeks later I logged in and noticed all my 2017 points were gone, but I had a boat ton of 2018 use year points. I called them to see what was going on and was told he must of saved them... I told them I did not tell him to do anything with them they said it doesn't matter you can go ahead and borrow next years points this year. So I have been using 2018 points most of this year, without issue. My use year doesn't start till 8/1 But I have the opposite issue. I have more points than I can use around 450K... So I will be extending them before they expire. 7/31 next year

I am having an odd issue with our RCI points as well. Our use year ends May 31st EOY and we had 1,100 points left over. We received many emails and 2 phone calls from RCI over April and May telling us that our points were expiring and asking if we wanted to extend them. We told RCI that their cost to extend was much to high and we had so few points we were just going to let them go. As it is we almost have more points than what we can use, getting 4-6 weeks from 1 weeks worth of points. Now today we get an email from RCI (our Account Balance) showing that our 1,100 points now expire July 31st! We did not pay to extend them, unless, which I doubt, we had a balance with RCI from previous transactions. I wonder what's up with the new date, 2 months after our use year date?
