The resort where we're staying offers a day-trip to NYC, which will give us only 7 or so hours in the city. We really would just like to do a sightseeing tour but the one we'd like is already booked full, so we're thinking a hop-on, hop-off might be best for us to get with short notice. There are many available - does anyone have a recommendation for one?

It doesn't matter, because the dirty little secret is that they're all owned by the same company. Big Bus and Grey Line are everywhere. Just go to Times Square and talk to the first sales guy you see.

Thanks - we ended up on Big Bus with a nice online discount, and had a very pleasant day.

There are 4 different routes, so it depends on what you want to see, and how much time you have.

These are the providers.... that provide hop on hop off type routes....
CitySightseeing New York (Grayline)
Big Bus
Open Loop

But there is also 'The Ride' This has better seating and views in bad or really hot weather.

Thanks for that tip Sandy, I just booked the ride masquerade tour for next week :). I think you were the one that reported the RCI sighting when I booked this trip to HGVC W 57th, so double thanks.
