As an old Silverleaf owner, there are some real dog properties in the system. I'm assuming the same is true for the Orange Lake CC and its properties.

In the case of the old Silverleaf units, look for sleeps 6 with 4 privacy. These are usually hateful early 4-plex units where they originally did not partition the bathroom from the master. Has anybody been caught by these?

There is not a truthful floor plan of these units on the HIVC website, big surprise.

What strategies do you use to avoid these woofers?

Every HICV resort I've stayed at so far has been top notch.(Gatlinburg, Lake Geneva, Williamsburg, Cape Canaveral, OL, Marco Island, South Beach) Only Dog's Ive seen have been the Silverleaf(Oak and Spruce) resorts.

Beware of what we call the "cabins". Most of the old Silverleaf resorts have them. They are about a 650 sf 4/6 unit 2 br units. I found the floor-plan on the Holly Lake resort page

Avoid! There used not to be a wall seperating the master bathroom from the bedroom (YUCK!)

That’s not an appealing design if it was just my personal home with only my spouse and I using the amenities. Share that with 51+ strangers every year — YUCK is being kind!
Sometimes I find that I just need to stop thinking about all of the ewww out there or I will never leave my bubble.

This is what is considered a "lodge". It is an OK unit, not luxurious, but comfortable:

Looking at the first week in June as a benchmark, I did a search.

The lodge units were designed as a lock-out, but I don't think HICV is using that feature any more. We just stayed at Oak'n Spruce in a lodge and there was only a key on the main entrance. I don't know how they are honoring existing Silverleaf owners who still own that unit as a lock-out.

So with both cabins and lodges being classified as "2 bedroom", there looks to be a 20k point difference. I suspect that is the difference.

If you reserve a 2BR (not Presidential) at Ozark Mountain Resort in Kimberling City you might have to be a mountain goat. A cabin with a twist:

Imagine schlepping your luggage to that bottom unit.
