We are going to Hilton Head next Sunday, September 28. I have never been there before. I need some ideas of things to do and places to eat.
Thanks in advance.

We were there in July, and I can recommend two restaurants that we really liked. One was Frankie Bones and the other was Bistro Mezzaluna. A couple of others we tried we weren't thrilled with....Kingfisher, Little Venice.

We've been going to HHI for the past 5 years. A few of our favorite restaurants are: Redfish (great early bird specials), Marley's (tried it first time this year....loved it. Also good deal on early birds), Sea Shack (no frills, good food), Olde Oyster Factory, and Big Bamboo, (kids' favorite...nice variety on menu, plus "free popcorn"). We tend to stay near Coligny Plaza, so most of these restaurants are nearby or a very short drive.

Charlies Crab has great Early Bird specials, a little pricy, but delicious selection of entrees, appetizers, desserts & bread. The Shrimp Shack is a local favorite. Not fancy, but food is good and prices are reasonable.

If you go to Charlies Place and are a AAA member, show your card for a 10% discount on your bill.

We are in Heritage Club for the coming week. Our favorite Pizza Restaurant is: Giuseppi's in Sea Pines. The owner is a retired coal miner from the Pittsburg area. He loves any and all sports teams from Pittsburg. My wife and I love their food.

A new restaurant opened up in Wexford called EAT - I ate there in October and it is awesome - they have a full menu and tapas selections. On Tuesdays, if you eat in the lounge between 5 and 7, the tapas are half price.

Also, if you don't mind pricey, Old Fort Pub in Hilton Head Plantation is excellent and has gorgeuous sunsets.

Any time Tuggers would like to meet other Tugger's, just let me know. We have a few Tuggers in Sun City who like to meet other Tuggers. We would welcome you if you would like to visit Sun City or we can meet you on the island. Charlie's Crab is very good. For inexpensive meal, try Kenny B's in Bi-Lo parking lot on Pope. It is very good quality seafood and cajun. Oyster Factory has good early bird for Jan and Feb with great views. Wild Wings is also a favorite with folks visiting the island. Conroy's at the Marriott Hotel has a good early bird and good view of ocean. I don't disagree with any of the other suggestions. So many places to eat and so hard to diet!!

For those of you on or near HHI, this week is "Restaurant Week," modeled after NY, LA and Boston. Several restaurants are participating and offering a fixed price menu of 3 or more courses and many of their specialties.

For menus and more details, log onto:
www.hiltonheadisland.org/restaurant week

We are going to the Black Marlin tomorrow night. Yum!!!!

Hilton Head Dining

Rachel, If you are looking for fine dining, there are 3 restaurants that stand out on Hilton Head Island. I believe they have been mentioned earlier in this thread but they bear repeating: The Sage Room, The Studio and Michael Anthonys. These are not places to bring small children but I am sure they would not turn you away.
