So I'm trying to make a reservation for 3rd-10th but its only available 2nd - 10th. The extra day costs an extra 15% of points and isn't worth wasting. if the unit is available on the 2nd, why can't it be available on the 3rd? To make matters worse, they will let me reserve the 4th-10th!!! WTF

- A few in S and VA, a single resort in NC, MD, PA, and UT, plus Jamaica and the Bahamas
It sounds like you are booking RCI points (also called nightly stays) inventory. Most older RCI properties were originally sold as weeks. They may have also traditionally only had housekeeping on one or two days of the week say Friday's or Saturdays. When they went to points they may have added additional housekeeping days but may have kept one or two days a week where the off site check in and house keeping are not available so lets say Sunday and Tuesday. Those resorts might let you check out those days (by dropping your key in the drop box) but aren't available as check in days.
