The reservation is showing up under my Marriott Rewards account. Am I not able to simply select cancel room on the website?

We have been waiting for a guinea pig to test it and see if that works. If you do it, please report back.

Thanks everyone. I was hung up on once. Second associate says I need to call the Aruba Ocean Club directly. Is this correct?

I have always called Owner Services when I need to cancel or make a change. They can even help rebook.

The only way to cancel "online" is by using the Chat feature. Otherwise you will need to call in.

I've done this as well. Quicker than calling in. Just log into to your MVC owner website and select chat feature, provide them with the confirmation #, resort and dates and ask them to cancel it

You should be able to call the reservations phone number to cancel. It is a shame MVC does not add a cancellation button. All their competitors allow canceling online.

I have never used the Chat feature. That is handy to know.

I have used email several times to cancel and I get a response in 24 hours. I don't like to deal with agents on the phone, and email works well for me. I will try chat in future.

I just cancelled a points reservation last week and the way I did it was to click a link on my reservation that said something like, "if you want to cancel this reservation click here". It brought up a form to fill out what the details of what I wanted to do. I basically said, cancel this reservation completely. The form said the normal turnaround is within 24 hours. I filled out the form around 5pm and by the time I woke up the next morning I already had the cancellation email.

I agree that if you need to get the points right away to book something else, probably call.
