I know Its hard to get a room early especially in July but is there any hope? Our flight changed to an earlier time so we will arrive in Orlando 8:30 am. My husband is driving down with my oldest so they arrive the next day. Trying to decide if I should rent a car for the day.

I think your best bet would be to skip the car rental and use Uber. It will definitely save you a lot of hassles......

I never assume we'll get a room early. We do have more luck at a large hotel, with a big inventory, but even then we can't always get in early. The best you can do is contact the resort and request early check in. Even if you can't get into your unit the resort should be able to hold your luggage for you.

Hard to say. MGV is a large resort, so quite a few villas. While hot in July, schools are out so travel demand index is fairly high. While hotels can often get you in early morning, timeshares generally do not. I would say low likelihood of getting a room in the AM, but medium in early afternoon prior to normal 4pm checkin.

If I were you, I'd take an Uber to MGV (not too far), check-in when you arrive, have the front desk bellman hold your bags, then go enjoy the resort until you room is ready. They will call your cell phone to let you know once it is ready. Until then, enjoy the pool, bar, golf, tennis or other activities. A quiet few hours prior to the rest of your family joining, can often be nice and relaxing :).

GV has a mini-market and restaurant options on site so you really don't need a car for just one day and could Uber.
You could also use instacart and have your groceries delivered to the resort so you wouldn't have to waste time
shopping when Hubby shows up.
Enjoy.
GV is one of my favorite Orlando resorts.
