Experienced hyatt tuggers advise neeed!

I contemplating purching a spring week, as it would best fit our needs overall with some what if planning. But I have a couple of questions. Does hyatt allow you the prepay your maintenance fee BEFORE, your points come in so that they can be used for a reservation the instant the points come in, like thru the wait list? For example, let's say I own week 10 and i am on the wait list for week 36 (exactly 6 months out, 26 weeks). Would Hyatt allow me to prepay before the new points ACTUALLY come in? Do the points come in simultaneously as the week 36 available inventory would be released. So if I was 1st on the wait list for week 36 it would reserve it based on availability?

The answer is yes--Hyatt does allow you to prepay, but your dues need to be prepaid in full in order to keep your OGS date stamp. And the problem is, of course, that you don't know exactly what your MF's will be until you get an invoice, so you have to use last year's fees and then add an estimated amount.

There was recently an interesting discussion on this topic elsewhere in this forum on this thread. It basically makes the point that those who do not do what you're asking about do in fact lose their place in line and a lot of hard-to-get inventory is suddenly available for a very short window of time.

Yes but that is only an issue this time of year when statements are generated. Week 10 is in march. So I could prepay during say week 9, 2018, for the points coming in on week 10 which are designated for the stay of week 10, 2019 and be ok for a wait list request for example week 36?

I worry that hyatt might say that's to far in advance and that they would also say that they do not know the estimated mf yet.

You won't be granted your wait list until your points come in though but you will retain your seniority based on when you put your name on the list. If someone with less seniority on the list owns the week before you and has the same wait list request, they will get the opening. You probably know this already but we didn't when we first bought so added it just in case.
We are going to pay 100 over our estimated for our week at Pinon Pointe to make sure, as this year we potentially lost a wait list as we only paid estimated MFs. We will never know for sure though. Hyatt said they would then refund our extra payment. I'd rather that than miss out on something.

If you purchased resale it might be possible that the unit still has unused points in the account.

I'm not sure yet if it has any available points yet. Just trying to figure out if prepayment before the points actually come is allowed, for future planning purposes, therefore making the points instanty available for potential waitlist requests. Maybe i should be looking for one week sooner to avoid this if it won't work.
