Thanks Barry, presume the 3 bed gets locked off into a 2 bed and a studio? So gonna try exchange 2 bed for 2 bed and then studio was gonna chance looking for a 1 bedroom as studio to 2 bed might be a bit too ambitious

Yes, for Playa the 3 bed does indeed lock off for a 2 bed and a studio.
We have many times successfully exchanged our studio there for a 2 bed unit elsewhere, but that has tended to be in low season and mostly to resorts with minimum 2 bed units.
Looking for a 1 bed will certainly give you the best chance.

I believe they are $99/bedroom upgrade, so, studio to 2BR would be $99 x 2. If you have II Gold, subtract $79 per br, Platinum subtract $59 per br.

Here in Europe, we pay these unit size upgrade fees in local currency, not in $.
I am not sure about a € charge when living in Spain, but for the UK it is
“Interval's unit-size upgrade fee is £69 per step-up in unit size. However, a reduced price of £49 per step-up is available to Interval Gold members, and £39 per step-up for Interval Platinum members.”
I don’t believe this has changed since its introduction, so the relative cost for us has varied with the $ exchange rate.
