Mistake #1 was purchasing from the developer but that's water under the bridge now. I purchase 168,000 points for odd year use at Bonnet Creek and received an additional 219,000 points to use within two years. The total points now put me in a VIP category but I was wondering will I loose that status once I use the 219,000 bonus points?

I recently purchase and additional 154,000 odd year use points at Bonnet Creek points on Ebay. My question is can I pool these points together to to retain my VIP status or will I need to purchase more points from the developer to total 300,000 before Oct 2012? Apparently that's when the VIP points total will increase to a minimum of 400,000.

When the two years is up your 219K points and VIP vaporize and you have 84K annual VIP eligible points. Your resale points do not qualify for VIP status. To keep VIP you would have to buy 216K Developer points which would be a total waste of some $35K or more!

Your resale points are co-mingled in your accoint so they would get discounts.

As Paco said, you can use the points together but only the developer points would count toward VIP. I would definitely NOT recommend buying more points from them chasing the VIP thing since they can (and have) change the rules/eliminate benefits at any point.

This post should really be in the Wyndham forum.
